Randall Sprague

Randall Sprague has been building MEMS-based display systems since 1995 when he led development of an inertial guidance system for what is now L3Harris. He currently has over 50 patents in electronic, photonic, optical, and mechanical design, including numerous near-eye display patents based on laser scanning.

Before joining Amalgamated Vision, Randy built and sold two companies including Innovega, where he developed the world's first contact lenses to enable viewing real images at distances under 20 mm. Prior to Innovega, he was Chief Engineer at Microvision, where he led the MEMS development team and was principal inventor of the company’s magnetically actuated raster scanning MEMS mirror.
