Our Team

Nestor Farmiga has devoted his career to building precision opto-mechanical equipment for a variety of world-class institutions and corporations. He obtained a BA in Physics, with honors, from the University of Chicago in 1991, and received a MS in Optics from the University of Rochester in 1993. He has worked in a wide variety of fields including research astronomy, semiconductor equipment, telecommunications, precision metrology, and life sciences.

Nestor has led design engineering teams developing complex, cutting-edge opto-mechatronic systems including large-format excimer laser microlithography systems, telecom optical switch cross-connect systems, novel interferometers for sub-micron surface mapping and zoomable OCT systems for ophthalmic surgery. He holds 29 patents in the fields of photonics and precision mechanical engineering.
